No class on these dates. . .

One of the things students often want to know early in the semester is whether or not there are any dates when we will not hold class. Obviously there will be no class on Labor Day (September 5) and during the Thanksgiving Day Holiday (November 20 – 26).

There are, however, three other days when we will not meet together as a class: Friday, October 12 October 14; Wednesday, Nov. 16; Friday, November 18. Even though we will not meet together as a class on these three days, because I’ll be presenting Penn State at research related conferences, you will be responsible for conducting “online” work on each day. I will have more information about this later in the semester.

Welcome to the class!

I want to welcome you to our Fall, 2011 class titled, “Presidential Rhetoric in the Age of Obama.” This blog will be the primary electronic presence for the class. Here I will post thoughts about course content, slides from lectures, and links to the video and speech texts that we will use throughout the semester.

If you have questions or comments that are meant for me, please direct them to my email address: kirtwilson@psu.edu or speak to me in class. If you have a question or comment that you think the entire class should hear and discuss, post it over on our Facebook Group Page: Presidential_Rhetoric.

I’m looking forward to an interesting and exciting semester together.
